Lets get you safely on the road.

When you’re learning to drive a car, you have someone sitting beside you, or you engage the services of a driving school, with a dual-controlled vehicle. Not so when you’re a learner RIDER.

Whilst anybody with a current motorcycle licence can follow you around while you are learning, lots of Learner riders struggle to find someone to supervise them on the road. You want a safe, responsible on road supervisor with a proven track record and a focus on safety and roadcraft.

At OnYaBikeFNQ, your safety is our number one priority.

We are a small dedicated team of local, fully licensed, and experienced riders.

We are here for YOU, the Learner Rider.

Our aim is to help you gain the skills and experience on the road, before stepping up to your RE (O) Licence.

You must have completed the 2 day pre-learner course with the Q-ride provider, and have your licence endorsed with RE (L) to legally ride on the road. You should have helmet, closed in shoes or boots, gloves, long sleeves and trousers.

We pick you up and deliver you back home, so that you can gain valuable experience on YOUR BIKE.

Don’t have your own bike? No problem. We can still get you riding on either one of our “Learner” bikes.

Your confidence and skill level will determine the roads we ride. We usually ride for a minimum of 1½ hours, and can be up to 3 hours.

Riding a motorcycle can be great fun, BUT, it also has it’s risks.

You will be riding on public roads and you MUST be fully aware of the other road users around you (because they probably won’t be aware of you).

Remember, you are ON a motorcycle, they are IN a car. It’s a lot different to learning to drive a car. The minute you throw your leg over, YOU are in control.

You’re NOT expected to know it all in one lesson, as there is so much to learn and you will learn a lot in the short time between RE Learner to RE (O).

We like to work with RE Learners so they can be totally confident of progressing to their RE (O). We show you how to master your bike, not the bike being your master. You will be taken through the slow and boring stuff, like figure 8, slalom, and slow riding.

We will recommend you book your RE (O) course with your Q Ride provider when you are competent. We want you to have the skill set, and to be of the standard required to pass.

Ideally, you should make yourself available to ride on a weekly basis. There is a lot to cover in just 3 months, and you should commit to this for best results. If you can manage 2 or 3 times per week, then all the better.

Contact us for the booking link to our OnYaBikeFNQ Calendar. Slots tend to fill quickly, and we can usually juggle the schedule around to suit everyone.

A safe rider makes for a safer, more aware driver. Look for bikes next time you are on the road. Get onto YouTube and watch instructional videos about riding techniques. We recommend Motojitsu (YouTube) as a great place to start. There are a lot of resources available to you. Please don’t hesitate to pick our brains at any stage.

There is no such thing as a dumb question and remember, we were all in your shoes at some stage of the process.

Lets make this safe and fun.

All bikes. All riders.

It doesn’t matter WHAT you ride. We know we can bring out the confident rider in you. We have a very long list of successful riders, and we are proud to say, a 100% pass rate.

Be safe. Be seen.

All our riders are encouraged to wear our OnYaBikeFNQ hi vis vest, which incorporates an eye level L plate. Drivers tend to back off and give you space if they can see you, and clearly see the L plate.
